Reed here! The Nintendo 64 was my childhood console. Most of my memories as a child are of playing games on this console, particularly, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Paper Mario, etc. But what I really played more than anything were the racing games on the console. Out of my love for the Nintendo 64, and more specifically my love for its racing games, I decided to make a video of my top 5 favorite racing games on the console. Remember: these are just my top 5 favorite. Feel free to post any comments or thoughts you have on the video and/or any suggestions you have as to what I should have put in it! Thanks for the video!!! I played N64 a lot as a kid, don’t play much anymore but enjoy it and am looking to get some games I haven’t played before. I will have to get F-Zero because I’ve never played it, and maybe Beetle Racer, too!!! I love Mario Kart, really like Diddy Kong racing and podracer also, so if you say the other 2 are good, I’m gonna trust your opinion 🙂
The only the racing games I can think of that I’ve played a lot are Excitebike, Lego Racer, and Extreme-G. And I would agree that they are not as good as the 3 that I’ve played that you listed.
Missing some real gems. World driver championship, automobile Lamborghini, wave race, top gear overdrive.
The strangest thing about the trophy scene in F Zero X is the fact that your character doesn't actually exit their… car? Hovercraft? Spaceship? Let's say vehicle. There isn't even a cut to imply that they got out of the vehicle, instead the character just rises out of the ground, on their pillar to stand next to their vehicle. So they weren't in the vehicle at all during the race? Do they just control their vehicles remotely from a room underneath the track? Maybe the drivers are literally sitting in that room with an N64 and a copy of F Zero X which reproduces everything that happens in game on the actual track with the real vehicles? This raises so many questions. We need answers, Nintendo!

World Driver Championship and San Fransisco Rush 2049 should be on this list instead of Mario Kart 64 (which is worse than Diddy Kong Racing by miles) and Star Wars Episode 1 Racer.
This is pretty much a perfect Top 5….I can't argue with it! I don't think there's nearly as many classics on the 64 as there is on the Snes, but i have to agree it was the last great console from Nintendo's 'golden age' as you say.
