ODA 561 TAG Tactical Game Innovations 40mm Grenade Review & Test

Test results:
Performance-wise, all three launchers fire and perform the same with no problems. Optimal distance is approximately 75-90 yards on a ”normal” or predictable aiming arc. The furthest launch of the day was 120 yards, however that far of a distance is hard to consistently repeat with accuracy due to increased wind drift. (In my opinion of course)

Tested on a day with 5-15 mph wind gusts.

  • Should the tag shells work with any 203

  • Any way you can fill those shells up without the expensive ‘fist’ Cannister?

  • What I guess is their newer model firing shell has a deeply recessed air port so you have to buy their specific co2 charger with the extra long nozzle. Kinda lame.

  • In the video you talked about the difficulty of loading the Granata capsule, for reasons of length and diameter. Could you indicate the make and model of the grenade launcher you used at the beginning of the video? You could indicate if you were aware of any M4 grenade launcher models with specific or optimal compatibility. Thank you. Congratulations for the video review

  • Couldn't you just shave a few mm off the tagin shell itself?

  • what launcher do you use with your m4

  • That's the exact reason why the U.S military is switching over to the M320, and phasing out the M203. The barrel opens sideways, which allows them to load longer grenades without issue. That being said, I personally think that the M203 is awesome 🙂 I grew up watching a lot of movies, and the M203 was in a number of them. Scarface, Predator 1&2, and My Science Project are the first movies that come to mind. My other favorite launcher is the M79, because it looks like an oversized break-action shotgun 🙂 Anyway, thanks for the video!

  • I really like the look of that ACOG/RMR, where'd you get it? (Don't like the current acog/red dot types, the red dot doesn't look anything like an RMR and yours hits on on the spot!)

    Great review too.

  • There is a locking tab on the m203 that holds the shell if you press it down it will release the shell and make life and reloading easier

  • Major kudos for being the space monkey that bought this first, and then taking the time to review it.

    We're discussing them here:
    http://forums.airsoftmechanics.com/index.php?topic=11879.0;topicseen

We raised a number of questions regarding this product, which you didn't cover. Among them:
How snugly does the shell fit in the launcher?
Does the shell itself rotate when firing (reducing its efficiency in applying rotational force to the projectile)

Also can you give us an accuracy comparison between these spin stabilized rounds, and your nerf-type fin stabilized rounds? Is there a measurable difference?

  • Question: Do you have a rough idea on the projectiles velocity?
